When you've collected your baggage from Baggage Claim
in Atlanta on Friday afternoon, meet everyone in the central
seating area of the Atrium of the airport, near the big
clock. Any airport employee will be happy to direct you.
When everyone is gathered together, our staff will guide
the group to the shuttle which will depart from either
the North or South terminal on the level below baggage
claim. The trip to Dahlonega takes about 1 hour and 30
minutes. Airport delays can happen! Please bring a good
book and patience
: )
MEAL SPAN:
First Meal is dinner on the day you arrive, generally
around 7:00 pm, depending on when the shuttle arrives
from Atlanta.
Staff and
interns will be in training until dinner on March 2nd.
Drivers, you may arrive in the afternoon
and relax in your room or around the Center.
On Sunday, March 8th, the shuttle

your own foods. (thanks). You may also call the Center
(706/864-5861) if you need to discuss dietary issues with
Ann or Marva, the chef.
TEMPERATURES AND DRESS:
Temperatures usually range from the 40's in the evenings
to the 70's during the day. Rain is possible. Always check
a national weather service for forecasts before packing
and traveling. Dress casually and comfortably. During the
breathwork process you will want to wear loose fitting,
non-binding clothes. Body temperatures can sometimes drop
during these sessions so sweats are a good choice on breathwork
days.
ITEMS TO BRING/HOW TO PACK:
- Comfortable, loose fitting clothes including raincoat
- Unlined notebook or journal for note-taking and symbol
drawing
- Walking shoes
- Item(s) that have a deep meaning for you to place on
the altar. This helps create sacred space (optional)
- Backjack/stadium
chair (optional, the retreat center has some)
- Pillows, blanket and/or mat to lie on (using the bedding
from your room is permitted)
- Flashlight for walking trails at night
- Only covered drinking containers are permitted
in group rooms
- Specialty foods that the Center will probably not have
- If flying, a good book to pass the time in the airport.
As mentioned above, the airport experience can be a good
time to integrate forbearance, good humor
and patience.
